1. Right of withdrawal
A consumer who buys goods remotely (including through innovative-composites.lv) for purposes outside their trade, business or profession generally has the right to withdraw from the purchase within 14 calendar days without giving a reason.
The period is calculated from the day after the goods are received. If items in a single order are delivered separately, the period is calculated from receipt of the final item. Statutory exceptions may apply.
This statutory withdrawal right is separate from the consumer’s rights regarding faulty or non-conforming products, described in section 7.
2. How to notify us of withdrawal
Before the 14-day period ends, send us an unequivocal statement of your decision to withdraw, using the online “Withdraw from Contract” function on this page, emailing info@innovative-composites.lv, or writing to our registered address.
You may use the model withdrawal form (PDF) available on this page. This form is optional provided that your statement clearly identifies your decision and the relevant order.
The online withdrawal function must provide an acknowledgment on a durable medium (such as email) containing the submitted statement and its date and time. You do not need the seller’s prior authorisation to submit a withdrawal notice.
3. Returning goods and shipping
After notifying us of withdrawal, please send back or hand over the goods within 14 days. Returns may be brought to the SIA “MEIDI” shop-studio at Vidzemes šoseja 4C, Sigulda, LV-2150, Latvia, or shipped to the same address.
For a standard change-of-mind withdrawal, the consumer bears the direct cost of returning the goods. Large or specialist shipments may have different return costs; please contact us for shipping options.
For chemical products (resins, hardeners, solvents, release agents, aerosols and similar materials), please contact us before shipping to agree on suitable packaging and a carrier that accepts such goods. This coordination does not restrict your right to submit your withdrawal notice in time.
Please secure goods against leakage, spillage and damage during transit.
4. Opened packaging and used materials
Innovative Composites supplies materials that may change after opening, exposure to air or moisture, mixing, inappropriate storage or contamination. Each return is therefore assessed individually.
Opening packaging does not in itself necessarily remove the statutory right to withdraw. However, the consumer is responsible for any reduction in value resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.
The assessment may consider any amount used, a compromised airtight seal, premature curing, contamination, mixed components, quality or safety concerns and demonstrable loss of resale value. We only apply deductions and exclusions permitted by law.
Statutory exceptions may apply, for example to goods made to the consumer’s specifications or clearly personalised, goods liable to deteriorate rapidly, or goods inseparably mixed with other items after delivery. Any exception must be legally justified; chemical products are not automatically exempt merely because they are chemicals.
5. Refunds
If the statutory withdrawal right is validly exercised, we reimburse payments received, including the least expensive standard delivery option offered (where applicable), without undue delay and no later than 14 days after receiving the withdrawal notice
Any extra cost for a delivery option more expensive than the least expensive standard delivery is not reimbursed. We may withhold reimbursement until the goods have been received back or evidence of return shipment has been provided, whichever occurs first.
Refunds are made using the same payment method as the original transaction unless expressly agreed otherwise and without additional fees for the consumer.
6. Business purchases
Where a purchaser acts in the course of their business or professional activity (B2B), the statutory 14-day consumer right of withdrawal generally does not apply. Business returns may be agreed individually. This does not remove any contractual or statutory remedies for non-conforming goods.
7. Faulty or non-conforming goods
If a delivered product does not conform to the contract, please contact info@innovative-composites.lv in writing with the order number, a description of the issue and photographs if available
Under applicable Latvian consumer law, consumers may bring a claim regarding non-conformity within two years of delivery and must notify the seller within two months of discovering the issue. Available statutory remedies depend on the circumstances. These rights are independent of the 14-day withdrawal right.
8. Complaints and dispute resolution
Complaints may be submitted to info@innovative-composites.lv or sent to our registered postal address. We respond to written consumer complaints within 15 working days.
If a dispute cannot be resolved directly, consumers may contact the Consumer Rights Protection Centre of Latvia (www.ptac.gov.lv), a competent alternative dispute resolution body, or a court. For cross-border EU consumer disputes, the European Consumer Centres Network may assist.
